This session will review up-to-the minute developments in the law concerning harassment and
retaliation.  Retaliation is the fastest growing employment law claim, and often can be very difficult to defend.  Accordingly, it is important that personnel are trained about what actions may constitute retaliation, and how to avoid retaliation claims.  High-profile harassment claims have been in the news lately, but HR personnel must understand that harassment claims can be much more subtle.  This session will address both harassment and retaliation with updates on the law in these areas, and strategies for avoidance and defending claims.  A series of scenarios will be presented toward the end of the presentation to promote audience participation.
