    This session focuses on the role of Human Resources and company management throughout the employee relationship, including best practices for development, discipline, and discharge, as well as the legal ramifications of actions taken.  It takes participants through some common sense approaches to the issues that may arise in the employment relationship, and explores how to put the company in the best position to defend itself against any potential claims.  Following this presentation, participants will be able to:

    • Prepare individualized plans for employee development, understanding the legal consequences
      • Recognize when employee and supervisor training may be appropriate
      • Analyze situations to determine when discipline is appropriate
      • Spot the potential legal ramifications of discipline and discharge decisions
