    This presentation will focus on a high-level overview of some of the perplexing topics in HR and employment law from 2023, which we expect to continue vexing HR’s world well into 2024 and beyond. 

    Learning Objectives:

    • Participants will walk away armed with an understanding of the current priorities of the U.S. DOL and how that impacts the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as the priorities at the NLRB that affect non-union employers.  
    • Participants will learn more about the developing law and practical implications relating to the use of marijuana by employees and applicants and the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace. 
    • The presentation will heighten the participants’ sensitivity to, and awareness of, the topics discussed.  The information presented will arm them with the ability to be more proactive in minimizing risk in their own workplace.
