Currently, 52% of the population is under the age of 30. As a result, businesses are encountering a pivotal juncture: How well do we truly understand and engage with this Generation? Why does this generation, which is so integral to our workforce and customer base, not resonate with traditional work patterns, values, and expectations? Anxiety and stress are among the most common reasons employees request accommodations in the workplace. On one hand, anxiety and stress can be crippling to those who suffer. In the workplace, employees’ anxiety results in a significant loss of productivity. On the other hand, however, employees’ requests for accommodations can open the door for legal liability. To make matters more complicated, managers may need to discipline an employee who just requested an accommodation for anxiety.

Organizational stakeholders are increasingly frustrated and disappointed with the underwhelming results of leadership development initiatives.
